REVIEW SNUSEXPRESS: SIBERIA RED SLIM WHITE DRY

A few weeks ago, I reviewed Siberia Red White Dry Portion here on the Snusexpress Blog. Today, we’re checking out another variant of the Siberia Red range! This is GN Tobacco’s Siberia Red Slim White Dry. Now, if you know me, you know I’m not one who uses a lot of really strong products. But, as a reviewer, I review it all, even if it may not be a product I use. The Siberia line is amongst the most popular snus products in the world, so I wanted to sit down and chat about this one. So, without further ado, let’s get right into it and check out this snus!

First, if you’re feeling around the top of the can you’re probably asking “where is the catch lid?”

Well, this one is a little different. The catch lid for Siberia Red Slim White Dry is actually on the bottom of the can. So when you need a place to discard of your used portions, check out the bottom of the can. The description for this one says, “Experience Siberia Snus’ extremely strong kicks and popular mint flavor, here with discreet, white and low drip portions!” The can weighs in at 13 grams and I counted 20 portions in the can. That means each portion weighs 0.65g each. The nicotine content is 43mg/g, as is custom with this product. However, due to the 0.65g portions, the nicotine strength breaks down to 27.95mg/portion, making this one a little more bearable for those of us with low nicotine tolerances!

When you open the can, the mint aroma that jumps out at you is quite bold, and stings the nostrils. It’s a powerful, present, focused mint aroma. It’s also a sweeter mint, but not too overbearing in that department. The portions are slim, and soft to the touch. They are slightly dryer than the average white portion, but not too dry. There is a slight burn when you put a portion in the lip, and then a little cooling presence from the mint flavor. The mint flavor is pretty present in this one.  It’s a sharp, powerful, icy mint taste.  It has a subtle sweetness to it, but it’s not too much.  There is a little tobacco taste to this one; you’ll notice it at about the 20-30 minute mark.  In regards to the nicotine strength, this one has quite a kick to it. It delivers firmly at the extra strong level, but doesn’t feel as strong as the full sized Siberia. For me, that’s okay! The flavor hangs out a good 1.5 hours on average, sometimes a little more!

So, as I’ve mentioned before, Siberia isn’t my cup of tea. The Blue one isn’t too bad, and I like the way the black one tastes. But in general, it’s much too strong for me personally.  But I mean, different strokes for different folks.  If you’re one who likes the mint flavor and wants a really strong kick, Siberia is what you’re looking for. Of the Siberia Red variants, this is the one that I’d suggest, because it isn’t too over the top strong.  If you want more kick than this one offers, then step up to the White Dry version with the full sized pouches.  No matter where you fall, there’s no mistaking how popular this one is!
